Welcome to Nanners by Annie!
Hi, and welcome to my site! I’m Annie, the owner and the creative mind behind Nanners by Annie. I thought it would be fun to share a little bit about how I got here. In 2015 I graduated with a degree in fashion design from Iowa State University where I met the love of my life. I ended up following that man from America to Belgium for and am so happy that he is now my amazing husband.
I started out working in the fashion industry and when 2020 hit I started thinking about what I want to do with my life. I currently work as a visual merchandiser and though I love my job, I found myself looking for something more. Something that would truly make not only me happy but make others happy as well.
Sewing has always been a hobby of mine and I love to sew just about everything, but my favorite thing to do is to sew for babies. It started with my grandma’s love for sewing. She made everyone in our family beautiful hand sewn quilts and taught the other women in my family this amazing craft. It’s become a family tradition to make blankets for our family and close friends, so it was only natural for me to make a blanket and burp cloth set for a close friend expecting her first baby. It was her love for the homemade gift that started my brand Nanners by Annie.
So why Nanners? When I was younger, my older sister nicknamed me Nanners, short for Annie Banannie. The name reminds me how important family is. No matter how many miles or kilometers they may be (and it’s a lot), they are never very far from my heart.
